Wiremind’s market leading space optimization and palletization solution is all set to upgrade to a significantly improved version. With beta testing well underway, we are on track to release SKYPALLET 2.0 this summer. The new upgrade leveraged years of feedback from leading airlines to deliver a more intuitive interface, faster processing speeds, and advanced workflow automation through its integration with CARGOSTACK.

Since its initial launch in 2017, SKYPALLET took over the market as the leading space optimization solution for airlines, GSAs, charter brokers, and forwarders. It was the first commercial software to offer air cargo-specific 3D visualization and optimization of pallet and container loads, effectively addressing key industry challenges. Originally designed to empower commercial teams with the operational know-how to quote shipments more efficiently, SKYPALLET has evolved to support to full flight optimizations for over 25 customers.

The upcoming SKYPALLET 2.0 promises several major improvements

• Enhanced Performance: The code base of SKYPALLET has been rewritten in a new programming language, resulting in faster calculation speeds and more advanced palletization algorithms for everyone.
• Deeper Integration: Integration into the CARGOSTACK ecosystem allows for deeper integrations and significant workflow automation.
• New Data Points: The ability to include new data points, such as freight status and build characteristics on an inbound leg, enables the palletization engine to produce more granular results.
• Revamped User Interface: The user interface has been redesigned to provide more intuitive workflows and information display, aligning with the user-friendliness of the entire CARGOSTACK product suite.

Speaking about the upcoming launch, Wiremind Cargo’s CEO, Nathanaël de Tarade says, “Various improvements to SKYPALLET over the years means it is now used at multiple touchpoints and processes in the air cargo lifecycle by our customers.”

He further adds, “While SKYPALLET has already been integrated to customer systems through its API, it has remained a stateless application relying on external systems to provide shipment and capacity inputs per calculation. By incorporating it into CARGOSTACK as part of our version 2.0, we now have the architecture to retrieve and hold all the relevant inputs consumed by the palletization algorithm, through what we call a stateful or deep integration with a customer’s core reservation system. This enables different automated workflows such as running SKYPALLET autonomously in the background using the booking, flight, and aircraft data to recommend outputs back to the airline system such as the remaining available volume, suggest offloads, and significantly automate the flight release process. We are also excited because SKYPALLET 2.0 is unlocking a number of new use cases which we are actively exploring with early adopter customers. This includes a new module to manage end-to-end special loads processes, its use in-warehouse for build planning and execution, and aircraft weight & balance capabilities.”

With these enhancements, SKYPALLET can be utilized throughout the entire cargo lifecycle – from quotation to booking acceptance, capacity control, flight release, and operations – enabling airlines to optimize space at every step and maximize revenue. The rollout of SKYPALLET to new and existing customers will occur over the next 12-18 months, supported by a comprehensive change management plan.
